I toke my trike in for a tune up friday. The mechanic said he put on a new cable going from thumb shifter to derailer, a good idea as well as adjusted. Well, after tune up it was terrible shifting. Then I relized that the thumb shifter was put on cockeyed, internal washers came out etc, that is why shifting was hard.
I will take it back tomorrow and get it fixed.
My question is, when replacing the cable from thumb shifter do you need to remove or loosen screw for thumb shifter? or can you just replace cable and not even loosen the the thumb shifter.
i ask as mechanic either did not put it back rtogether right when he took it apart to put in new cable or he put in new cable without even seeing a preexisting problem. It will become a you scrfewed ity up (that is my position) to a we didn't see it was screwed up but we didsnt do it as we do not need to loosen thumb shifter screw to put in new cable. thanks
