Just a thought...Instead of trying to push the already well designed trike's weight lower, beyond the point of diminishing returns, look at trike+rider weight totals...And the easiest place to take weight off of that combination is to take it right off your waist.
If you assume a 200lb rider @ 20% bodyfat ('average' for US male population) there's plenty of room to cut 20lbs off the combined total without having any strength loss....10% bodyfat level is fairly achievable for anyone who really wants it and doesn't have underlying medical problems.
Without going way off topic and drowning in details, a brief description of how: 5-6 small meals daily, 300-400cals for each meal, as close to 0 grams of simple sugar as reasonably possible. 3 liters of free water (minimum) per day. 20-40 min cardio first thing in the am before you eat, then eat immediately post.....
All of the above assumes approval by your physician bla bla bla...
Dropping 20lbs off your waist will do far more than pinching another 3lbs off an already light trike....
