Posts: 6 (02/29/12 18:49:45) Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	Tags : None Been wanting to do this for a long time.Race a 700 and Vortex.With a much stronger rider on the Vortex,me on the 700 ,I expected to struggle to keep up.To my surprise I easily pulled ahead and continued to accelerate.We tried again with the same results.I love the 700 and took it home"this was a test ride". The 700 is a great trike in every way

Speed is named "Gonzales" for "Speedy Gonzales" of Disney cartoon character, and it fits the name. My trusty comfortable old friend Expedition is called "His Excellency" or the "EX Man" Want a comfortable fast ride... well mount up! Finally my 700 is "Stretch and Gone" or just "Stretch", cause that's what that black leopard makes me do... Stretch out and go fast! Let the good times roll on and on and on. Posts: 36 (03/01/12 04:43:06) Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	I find the 700 to be a great tool to race and train with. there is no question in my mind its the fastest Trike made by Catrike. I say this laughing inside because some Internet experts on this very forum think it's not. While my Time Trial Bike is faster by 4 mile per hour on a 20K I have no fatigue what so ever on the Catrike 700. Ian

Ian Ian, the operative words are " Internet experts"...............HaHa The 700 is probably the fastest production Trike period!! It will however, be interesting to see how it fairs in matchup with the 2012 Vortex. Cheers.

The 700 has three advantages: Less weight, slightly better seat angle and its extruded boom which won't wiggle (and thus turn movement into heat) even if a horse is kicking the pedals. But all three won't help against a stronger rider. noses.

Yes,It's all three,But I can really tell the difference in the boom.It think it made the biggest contribution to power input.I haven't heard that talked about a lot in trikes.The Inessenti is interesting,but we would have to race them to see.Beautiful trike,to bad it is insane money,for me anyway

Which is the reason why my Musashi does't wiggle at all while other two wheelers are looking like a complete sine wave as soon as their riders start going uphill. And why my Speed didn't force me to keep my hands on the steering while my ICE Sprint (26" edition painted black which means it's a Vortex with cheaper components) takes me anywhere but not in the direction I want to go (unless I'm steering it). Sometimes I'm quite afraid of the boom with is bent by quite a few cm on every crank rotation. There is no need to race an Inessenti – it really has all the advantages and at that price you could start thinking about some really fast velomobile. noses.

Only after configuring the trikes for their riders. Even a few mms of boom reconfiguration will make a difference. And that's before you start readjusting ore even swapping the Vortex's seat. Using 155 mm or 165mm cranks is making quite a difference (more than a few %) for me, too. noses.

The inesenti @ 6900 £ +(not dollars) is very expensive. ...And it appears to be heaver than the Cat 700. specs: http://www....enti.com/...enti.com/Tech_specs.html By the way i noticed the Innesenti also has 451 front wheels which i found interesting since i own a Cat Speed w/451. In a 20 mile time trial Cat700 vs Inessenti w/same rider, same course i would still bet on the 700 catrike. Getting to Ride the West Orange Trail at speed with Mark "Catrike" Dana "Bent Up Cycle was a blast. The 700 handled great and produced down hill speeds in the Mid 30s.
