Posts: 61 Feb 23 12 12:37 PM Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	Tags : None Hi I have Q rings on my Road and like them very much. I recently got a new 700 and want to put them on it as well. When I bought q rings before, the middle ring was ramped and pinned. They don't seem to have a 130 BCD middle ring any more. They do have a 39 toothed inner ring that isn't ramped and pinned. I was thinking of using it in a 27-39-53 q ring setup with the existing Microshift Front derailleur. Will this shift ok with a non ramped middle ring? thanks Mark

This will primarily affect shifting performance from the inner (27t) ring onto the middle (39t) ring... a rare shift, overall. Without the ramps the chain won't be as smoothly "drawn" onto the middle ring, but the shift should still happen reliably. You'll probably need to just practice letting off your pedaling load a bit more that you do right now to get a quiet shift each time. Posts: 148 Feb 23 12 4:37 PM Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	In my experience ramped & pinned ring are great for racers who are worried about quick shifts, I have a 48/39/24 set on my 700 & Expedition and have never experienced a missed shift in over 25,000 miles and none of them are ramped or pinned ( Salsa rings). I also run an unramped middle ring on both the Expedition and the 700 using a 24T Salsa granny and 39/53T Rotor Q-Rings with no problem.
