Have a good time, I've pulled a lot of various configurations and weights without much more than engine trouble. Be aware though that the brakes aren't
going to be as effective and in a panic situation you may have some goofiness trying to stop. I've not really had too much trouble, though I think the
limit for weight was probably around 100lbs (kid+recyling+2 trailers).
If you get more than one or two trailers you'll need to plan your turns a bit more as they tend to drift to the inside a bit. Bill |

only because there was some question as to whether BOBs are compatible with the cte--until i spoke with catrike, directly--i'm writing to let you know that
it's a viable option
been pulling mine for the three months i've owned my expedition, without a hitch (so to speak) eric |

...and pull it behind my Trail with no fuss. When I was training for my ride across North Carolina earlier in the year, I pulled it behind the trike a LOT and
really like it. On a windy day, it acts like a sail, and can make a headwind a real pain in the a$$, but down wind I can really fly. I loaded the trailer
with camping gear. A two man tent, a cot, sleeping pad, sleeping bag, cooking equipment, the works...just to give it some mass so I could judge how it would
do for a long trip, and it handles the load just great. The Trail, with it's gearing, seems a good match with a trailer and I look forward to doing some
overnight trips now that the weather down here in Florida has cooled down a bit.

My Burley is normally used for commuting and for training. It's 14.5 lbs. when empty and has a capacity of 100 lbs. So stable with its two wheels that it
laughs at our Texas 45 mph wind gusts. I highly recommend it. http://tinyurl.com/yaeu2yq
The fastest 90 degree corner I have taken with it, loaded to about 30 lbs., was around 20 mph. Tracked perfectly. |

I'm thinking about this trailer behind my Expedition:
Check out here My LBS owner uses one and swears by them. Added bonus, same tube size as rear wheel |

Over on BROL there is a post about an Xtracycle coming for the catrike. I do not know much more than what was going on in the post but have some experience
with the Xtracycle product. My buddy who is over the limit of a lightning heavy duty trike was riding the atb with the xtracycle, while I was passenger. Lets
just say I was well over the limit of 200lbs for the xtracycle :-). It would more than likely be better than hauling out the trailer when you don't have it
with you. :-)

I have a Catrike Trail a few months now and really enjoying it. Since July1st'09, 926k, and I think I'd like to do some touring next year. I'm also
thinking of a trailer to create more capacity for camping gear.I have the Winwrap fairing and hope that it works ok with a trailer' I think the 27gears
might be a problem for me, so there's the Internal speed hubs, I've been thinking along those lines anyways. Maybe the 3speed not sure yet, my Lbs
say's thats 81speeds, at around $550CDN, cheaper than electric assist.

Here's the link on BROL
I get it, I think it's a great answer for someone that needs a workhorse, but I have to say for someone that owns 2 beautiful cats (Speed & Expedition) I find it somewhat painful to look at..... |

I'm sure this set up serves its creator quite well, and that the looks suit him as well, but I tend to agree. Let's find a solution that either
doesn't harm the lines of the original trike, or enhances them somehow. My 700 was stripped to the basic trike when I was stopped at a convenience store. A
guy gets out of his car and says, "That is a work of art." I looked at the machine myself, and just couldn't argue.

If I understand the Xtracycle correctly, you're just removing the rear wheel and adding some stuff so you can haul, right? Thus, once that is over it's
make to Catville, right?
I think this is great! Now you can have your big dummy and your 700 too! Big hauler and sexy trike! |

in looking at the picture .. it looks like your extending the wheel base so you would need to extend
the chain length, so it doesn't look like something you can "just change back and forth " I think I'll go the trailer route myself .. to bad the burley is yellow and black .. I'd rather have red :-) but the cargo can carry any bag I want :-) thanks for all the responses ... I like the set up action lad has ( I want one of those fairings :-) Talon |
