I live in upstate New York. We don't have tailwinds, only headwinds. No matter what direction you head, it's always into the wind.

Yesterday I had a stiff headwind in both directions for my commute to AND from work. All the way to work I'm saying to myself, "I can't wait to
ride home in this wind!" I should have been more specific! Doh!
I really love a headwind...when it's heading my way! Yesterday's experience to the contrary, the wind does cooperate almost half of the time. |

In the desert, I love almost any wind with in reason but I do like tailwinds much better.

Tailwinds are of benefit for speed only in seventy of the three hundred sixty degrees possible for unfaired bikes and trikes.
I found my old disc brakes overwelmed with a 40mph breeze with higher gusts the other day. Best thing about the trike i was able to successfully ride to work into that breeze. Best thing about tailwinds is they are not headwinds. Mike |

I posted this poll when I came back from a training ride in 95 degrees with a 20-25mph tailwind.
It was great with the exception of not getting the breeze from my speed to cool me off. I was doing 25mph on the flats and it felt like I was sitting still broiling in the Sun. Thanks to those who participated |
